☕日本語 (Japanese) Cafe Classes in Brighton and Hove
Online lessons are far easier to teach and run than I first feared when Covid appeared. Powerpoint, shared audio files, breakout rooms and a chat function often make lessons far easier to manage than in a classroom.
But online doesn’t work for everyone. It has its limitations. For 2 years now I have been teaching classes to children and teenagers to cafes and in their family homes.
Some are learning for pleasure, some have been preparing for GCSE or A Level exams. Since the start of this year, I have also been teaching face to face classes for adults preparing for trips to Japan or for JLPT exam preparation.
As with online lessons, I was worried if cafe classes would work at first. But it’s been a revelation. I love the excuse to get out of the house, and I have missed the face to face interaction after a sedentary home-based couple of years.
Finding the right location and the right time of day is important. I am now a connoisseur of cafe venues.
My brother’s bike shop, BN3 bikes fixed me up with a pannier to house the necessary books and flashcards etc. I now feel like an Uber Japanese Instructor, ready to deliver Japanese to a cafe near you.
SPECIAL OFFER: Book your first 1 hour cafe or home lesson for half price (15 pounds) before the end of November.
